The Company
This Irish engineering contractor specialises in lightning protection, earthing and surge protection systems, delivering electrical infrastructure packages across major data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial and commercial construction projects throughout Europe.
With a strong pipeline of projects in Germany, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for specialist electrical packages, working closely with main contractors, clients and site teams.
The company offers long term opportunities across European projects, with experienced engineering and commercial teams supporting delivery.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will oversee specialist electrical infrastructure projects in Germany from initial planning and procurement through installation, testing and final handover.
Working closely with senior management, the commercial team, site supervisors and main contractors, you will manage programme delivery, project budgets, subcontractors and client relationships.
The role will involve overseeing lightning protection, earthing and surge protection installations, ensuring works are completed safely, to specification and within agreed budgets.
Must Have Requirements
- Proven experience in project management within the construction or electrical contracting industry
- Experience managing construction programmes, project budgets, subcontractors and site teams
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements and project delivery procedures
- Fluent English and strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of lightning protection, earthing or surge protection systems
- Previous experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or major commercial construction projects
- Experience managing specialist electrical packages for main contractors
- German language skills would be beneficial but are not essential
Key Responsibilities
- Manage specialist electrical infrastructure projects from planning through installation and handover
- Oversee lightning protection, earthing and surge protection works across major construction projects
- Coordinate site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and installation teams
- Develop and monitor project programmes, budgets and resource requirements
- Work closely with main contractors, clients and internal engineering teams to maintain programme delivery
- Manage procurement, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements
- Monitor project costs, variations and commercial performance
- Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications and safety standards
- Identify programme risks, technical issues and potential delays and implement corrective actions
- Attend client and project progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior management
- Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reports and financial records
- Oversee quality inspections, testing requirements and final project handover
About You
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in construction or electrical contracting and the ability to manage specialist packages on major projects.
Previous experience with lightning protection, earthing or surge protection systems would be particularly beneficial, although candidates with relevant electrical infrastructure or construction project management experience will also be considered.
You should be commercially aware, comfortable managing subcontractors and site teams, and confident dealing directly with main contractors and clients to maintain programme, quality and budget requirements.
