Growth Marketing Overview
Growth Marketing at Brex Growth Marketing is Brex’s pipeline engine. We own paid acquisition, organic and SEO, lifecycle marketing, events and field marketing, partner marketing, and marketing operations. We carry a number: SQL ARR, bookings, and self‑serve activations. Every function on the team is accountable to it. We run lean. We pair small teams with AI and automation instead of scaling headcount. Our marketing ops team uses Claude, Clay, and custom integrations to do work that used to require twice as many people. Our paid team manages eight figures of annual spend with four people. We work closely with sales, SDR leadership, engineering, and design. We own top‑of‑funnel through meeting creation. We push back when the data says something different than the room expects. And we’re building with startup speed and a much larger balance sheet behind us.
What You’ll DoAs Director of Organic Growth&Discoverability, you’ll own everything between paid acquisition and brand that drives a buyer from first discovery to qualified lead. You set the strategy, build the team, decide how we work with agencies, and carry the number. You report to the Head of Growth Marketing. This is what we expect in the first 12¾ months:
Responsibilities- Set the organic growth strategy and own the roadmap, OKRs, and budget.
- Own how Brex shows up organically.
- Build Brex’s AEO/GEO playbook.
- Own how Brex shows up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI overviews: citation strategy, content structured for model retrieval, and tracking to assess movement.
- Co‑own the technical SEO roadmap with web engineering: site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawl, page performance.
- Grow qualified organic traffic and improve conversion from organic visitors to activated users and pipeline.
- Move Brex’s share of voice in AI‑generated answers for corporate cards, expense management, and business banking.
- Stand up tracking to know if you’re winning.
- Recover and surpass keyword positions lost to competitors in recent algorithm shifts.
- Stand up a content production engine that ships ranked work without requiring senior review for every piece.
- Cut the vendor stack down.
- Make remaining vendors accountable and identify what should move in‑house.
- Hire and develop the team; inherit, grow, and set editorial, technical, and AI‑native bar.
This role will be based in our New York office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of two coordinated days in the office per week, Wednesday and Thursday.
