Job Title: Head of Operational RiskLocation: Zurich or St. Gallen, SwitzerlandAbout the Role:We are excited to partner with one of Switzerland’s premier banking institutions to find a highly skilled and experienced Head of Operational Risk. This is a fantastic opportunity for an operational risk leader to join a globally renowned banking group, based in either Zurich or St. Gallen. The successful candidate will oversee a dedicated team of 5 professionals, leading the charge in strengthening the operational risk framework and ensuring effective risk management strategies across the business.Key Responsibilities:Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing operational risk team of 5, ensuring strong collaboration and continuous professional growth.Oversee and enhance the operational risk framework, ensuring it is aligned with both regulatory requirements and the organization’s risk appetite.Identify, assess, and report on operational risks across the bank, ensuring all risks are effectively mitigated and managed.Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior leadership on emerging operational risks and trends, with actionable recommendations for risk management.Conduct regular risk assessments, including scenario analysis, to ensure a proactive approach to operational risk management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement controls, procedures, and processes that minimize operational risk exposure.Drive the enhancement of operational risk reporting, ensuring timely and accurate communication of key risk indicators (KRIs) to senior management and relevant stakeholders.Ensure compliance with both Swiss and international regulatory frameworks governing operational risk.Lead the development of risk awareness and training initiatives to foster a strong risk culture within the organization.Requirements:Minimum of 8 years of experience in operational risk management within the banking or financial services sector, with a proven track record in leadership roles.Extensive knowledge of banking products, processes, and regulations, with an in-depth understanding of operational risk frameworks.Strong familiarity with Swiss banking regulations and international standards, such as Basel III, as well as other risk management methodologies.Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and provide effective solutions.University degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
