Brunel are looking to recruit an SPS Topsides Control Engineer with experience in deepwater SPCS gained in the Oil & Gas sector. This 12-month renewable contract is to work for a leading Oil & Gas Operating company, and you will be based at the Vendor site in Celle, Germany.
You will be responsible to manage the hardware and software development of the subsea production control system (SPCS) to be carried out by SPS Contractor (from design to hand over to FPSO CTR) and liaise with the various internal stakeholders, such as FPSO package, headquarter technical departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high level support services to ensure compliance with the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy, promote and enforce the Anti-Corruption Program within the Project.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of Subsea production control system (SPCS) related Company Rules & Specifications and international standards; ensure that all applicable requirements are duly implemented and satisfied
- Ensure, throughout all the project that all engineering/testing/manufacturing/pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to topside standalone subsea control system architecture which is developed by contractors, subcontractors or other parties comply with project’s objectives/requirements, standard and Company rules
- Ensure, throughout all the project that all engineering/testing/manufacturing/pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to subsea control system software’s and Hardware’s, such as but not limited to MCS, OCWR, HMI, Alarm management, remote access, cyber security developed by contractors, subcontractors or other parties comply with project’s objectives/requirements, standard and Company rules.
- Support integration of SPCS topside and subsea software with: PLC-based control systems, SCADA / HMI platforms, Subsea sensors, actuators, and power distribution components, Coordinate software behaviour with hydraulic, electrical, and electro-hydraulic control philosophies.
- Ensure that all aspects having consequences on SPCS software’s development, testing, or integration/installation are suitably addressed during the project by timely reviewing and validating the relevant documentation issued by contractors (technical documentation, queries, derogation requests), and raise subsequently comments, highlighting deviation, unacceptable or unjustified design choices.
- Ensure that all engineering/testing/manufacturing/pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to subsea control system software’s and Hardware’s, such as but not limited to MCS, OCWR, HMI, Alarm management, remote access, cyber security developed by contractors, subcontractors or other parties comply with project’s objectives/requirements, standard and Company rules. Ensure alignment with FPSO on ICSS interfacing details Ensure that the SPCS software will ensure safe, environment friendly and cost-effective operations.
- Participate and contribute to relevant engineering reviews (HAZID, HAZOP…)
- Contribute actively to Quality Reviews, Projects Reviews and, whenever necessary present results to the team or to the partners.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in engineering with 10 years of experience in deepwater SPCS, including experiences in project and execution phases
- Sound knowledge of control system, subsea operations and subsea production system disciplines
- Sound knowledge of coding.
- Sound knowledge of subsea production system Company’s rules and international standards
- Languages: English mandatory, with good communication skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
