Position Summary:

The Operations Controller is a highly visible position that drives manufacturing financial improvement, best practices, and key business decisions for business operations, including separate production sites. The Operations Controller will provide financial support, analysis, solutions and collaboration between the manufacturing, sales, and financial disciplines. The position will be responsible for maintaining a control environment that complies with the Company’s internal control policies and ERP workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages operations level financials including productivity measurements, product costing, cost of goods sold and inventory valuation.
  • Continues Improvement and effective use of company ERP, driving change and operations best practices, while teaming with CI managers, supervisors, and IS application architects.
  • Leads cost accounting function and staff.
  • Supplies financial analysis of capital expenditure requests and plant productivity initiatives.
  • Important participant in driving cycle count process adherence and count result improvement.
  • Partners with Supply Chain/Manufacturing to minimize costs, improve quality and drive margin improvement.
  • Ensures bill of material structures and updates accurately reflect company inventory valuation policy and proper product costing.
  • Performs KPI metrics/reporting, variance analysis and product line profitability reporting data/support.
  • Produces ad hoc analysis and reports providing financial information, support and guidance to Operations Team and Corporate management.
  • Provides budgeting/forecasting requirements at the plant and operations level.
  • Promotes a safe and inclusive work force.
  • Ensures that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including US GAAP compliance, data integrity, segregation of duties, and adherence to corporate policies.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 6 years in finance positions related to manufacturing and in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solver in productivity improvement.
  • Strong analytical and cost accounting skills
  • Excellent skills in the use of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Microsoft Dynamics a plus.

Education:

Minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or certifications obtained throughout one’s career.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA, CMA and/or CPA preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Safety glasses must be worn in manufacturing areas. Hearing protection must be worn where required.
