Our client is a well-established specialist real estate lender with a strong track record across development finance and investment lending.
The business has provided more than £2 billion of real estate finance across residential, commercial, hotels, mixed-use, PBSA, senior living and other real estate sectors.
As part of the continued growth of its European platform, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Projektsteuerer / Project Monitor to support their growing German portfolio.
The Opportunity This is a lender-side role, rather than a traditional construction project management position.
You will use your technical construction and development expertise to assess and monitor real estate developments on behalf of the business, working closely with credit, investment and wider European teams.
The role covers the full lifecycle of development finance transactions, from initial due diligence and underwriting through to construction, drawdowns and completion.
Key Responsibilities Review development budgets, construction programmes and technical specifications.
Assess contractors, consultants, planning permissions and construction contracts.
Monitor project progress, costs, risks and potential delays.
Review and recommend drawdown requests and external monitoring reports.
Undertake regular site visits across Germany.
Provide technical recommendations to Credit and Investment Committees.
Act as a technical point of contact for developers and project stakeholders.
About You We're open to candidates from a range of relevant backgrounds, including: Projektsteuerer / Projektmanager Bauingenieur / Architekt Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager Projektmonitor / Projektmonitoring Technischer Projektmanager Projektcontroller / Projektcontrolling Lender-side technical or development monitoring You'll ideally have several years' experience working on German real estate development projects, with strong knowledge of construction costs, programmes, project risk and delivery.
A relevant degree and MRICS or an equivalent German qualification such as Dipl.-Ing., Architekt or Bauingenieur would be advantageous.
Fluent German and strong English are essential, together with the willingness to travel across Germany for site visits.
