Cirque du Soleil is recruiting an On Call Stage Manager for its European resident show, Alizé, playing in Berlin's iconic Theater am Potsdamer Platz!
As an On Call Stage Manager, you will be expected to:
- Perform backstage tracks
- Assist the Stage Management team in preparing show lineups and communicating changes to the appropriate technical departments or artists;
- Supervise the backstage and training areas;
- Provide support to artists and artistic staff;
- Keep up to date on show adjustments and protocols accordingly;
- Help manage the integration of new artists into the production;
- Manage rehearsals and training sessions as assigned;
- Ensure that all equipment is in place and in working order for rehearsals and training sessions;
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of safety and emergency procedures;
- Act as liaison between artistic and technical staff;
- Enforce production rules, policies and procedures;
- Perform any other duties assigned by the General Stage Manager.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Experience:
- College diploma in Stage Management, Theatre Production or equivalent;
- Professional experience working in theatrical Stage Management;
- Relevant experience working with and supporting creative teams.
Qualities:
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
- Strong administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise and organise tasks;
- Ability to maintain a personable and friendly approach under a varied work load;
- Committed attitude to fostering diversity and inclusivity;
- Flexibility, with a willingness to implement changes on a regular basis;
- Highly organised, with an eye for detail and accuracy;
- Confidence in managing relationships with a wide range of people and teams.
Skills:
- Fluency in written and spoken English, essential;
- Knowledge of German or other language is an asset;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications in a Windows environment;
- First Aid/CPR training, an asset.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment, an asset;
