About the role
We're hiring a Growth Associate to work directly with our CCO Thies on the engine that drives Buena's growth: our M&A pipeline. Every property manager in Germany is a potential acquisition target; your job is to make sure we know about every single one of them.
In your first quarter, you'll have built the full target universe for us. By the end of year one, you'll be running outbound campaigns, managing working students, and feeding Thies and the deal team with the conversations that move the company forward.
Responsibilities
Build the target universe. Every property manager in Germany on one list: revenue, headcount, locations, ownership structure, and signal of intent to sell.
Build the sourcing engine, not just the list. The list is the foundation. The engine is what turns it into deals: funnels from cold target to qualified conversation, automated email sequences, pipeline management, creative outbound campaigns. You'll design and run all of it and continuously improve it based on what's actually converting.
Run market research at the edges. Some answers aren't on the internet. You'll pick up the phone and talk to property managers directly.
Grow the function. As the engine scales, you'll hire and manage working students to extend coverage, and work closely with our creative director Lenz on campaign messaging that actually gets responses.
Report directly to the CCO. You'll work side by side with Thies. No middle layers, no slide polishing for someone else.
You may be a good fit if you
Speak fluent German (C2). Most of our targets, their public filings, and the conversations you'll have are in German.
Are structured and obsessive about data quality. A list with 80% of the targets and 60% accuracy is useless.
Are resourceful in your research. Handelsregister, Northdata, LinkedIn, company websites, phone calls, industry directories. You'll use whatever works.
Move fast. Rather ship a v1 of the list today and improve it weekly than spend three weeks perfecting it before anyone sees it.
Want to learn the M&A craft from the inside. This is the closest seat to how Buena actually grows. You'll see every deal.
Are based in Berlin or willing to relocate; this is an in-office role in Prenzlauer Berg.
Strong signal: You've built a real outbound or sourcing motion from scratch: a database, a campaign, a deal pipeline, or a recruiting funnel. You know the difference between a list that looks complete and one that is complete, and you know what it takes to turn a cold name into a conversation.
