bunch is building the backbone of private markets, combining exceptional expertise, operational excellence, and frictionless technology. The platform enables funds and private investors to seamlessly and securely set up and manage their investment entities.
We are looking for a Research Assistant (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, m/w/d) to work closely with our General Counsel, Jessica McBride , on all aspects of building and scaling bunch’s in-house legal department and provide legal support for bunch’s product and strategic decisions.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with bunch’s automation, business development and operations teams, supporting with sales and service contracts and legal questions on our product
- Conduct legal research, particularly on the issues of banking/payments, funds and corporate law that underlie bunch’s product
- Provide reasoned recommendations on product development and regulatory strategies
- Improve the contractual bases for bunch’s product, including corporate, trust and investment documents as well as service and other operating agreements
- Assist in matters of German / EU / UK anti-money laundering and privacy law that are relevant to our operations
- Support with matters of UK and Dutch law (our 2 other markets) and evaluate expansion issues (e.g., licensing) for future markets
- Get a first-hand look at how a company is built

What you should bring with you
- Have studied law at a German university and have completed the first state exam (erstes Staatsexamen ) with at least “fully satisfactory” (vollbefriedigend ) results
- Native-level proficiency in German and excellent written and spoken skills in both German and English
- Be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized and comfortable with responsibility
- Be excited about working in a fluid, innovative, fast-paced and creative environment and about being a part of bunch’s culture
- Be interested in the intersection of legal, tech and automation
- Diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged
The scope of employment would be at least 10 hrs/week and up to 20 hrs/week, with a start as soon as possible.
