Overview
In this role you drive the design and operation of on‑premises container platforms, building highly available, scalable Kubernetes clusters for private cloud deployments. You evaluate and integrate CNCF technologies for the local data center, design secure network architectures and zero‑trust controls, and implement IaC with GitOps for automated provisioning. You define monitoring, logging and SLOs/SLIs and advise developers on migrations to the on‑prem cloud, while coaching the team to mature the platform. A meaningful opportunity to shape enterprise on‑prem infrastructure and security at scale.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- End-to-end design and operation of container platforms for on‑prem infrastructure
- Build and maintain high‑availability, scalable, secure Kubernetes clusters on‑prem
- Evaluate and integrate CNCF technologies for the local data center
- Design complex container networks and implement zero‑trust concepts, network policies and pod security standards
- Establish Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Ansible and GitOps workflows for automated cluster/workload provisioning
- Design monitoring, logging and tracing solutions and define/monitor SLOs/SLIs
- Provide technical guidance to developer teams migrating applications to on‑prem cloud; lead and coach the team
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Mehrjährige, fundierte Erfahrung als Cloud Architect, Platform Engineer oder Senior DevOps Engineer
- Tiefgreifende Praxis in On‑Premises/Infrastrukturaufbau, abseits von Managed‑Cloud‑Diensten
- Exzellente Kubernetes‑Architekturkenntnisse (Control Plane, etcd, Kubelet)
- Linux‑Fundamentals, Virtualisierung und Bare‑Metal Provisionierung
- Gute Kenntnisse in TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, VXLAN; On‑Prem‑Storage‑Know‑how
- CI/CD‑Pipelines, IaC (Terraform, Ansible) und Container‑Runtimes (containerd, CRI‑O)
- Erfahrung mit Netzwerkkonzepten und Sicherheit im Containerumfeld; Zero‑Trust‑Ansätze
- Analytisches Denken, Problemlösungskompetenz, gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten
