About this role:

The Field Service Engineer will provide all-round after-sales support to our customers together with our service providers in Germany. Maintain a good relationship and reputation with customers, operators, and service providers. Work with R&D, QA, and production teams to improve products.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities

Technical Support

  1. Undertake and assist with aftersales operational issues (e.g., technical diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance).
  2. Provide feedback on technical documentation (e.g., manuals, diagnostic diagrams, etc.).
  3. Take the lead on delivering technical solutions for highly concerned topics.
  4. Help the service provider implement technical upgrades and service campaigns.
  5. Create service reports in the BYD management system, helping to improve the products together with R&D and QA teams.

Service Team Management

  1. Coordinate all the diagnostic tools.
  2. Collaborate and lead the service team from our service providers to deliver excellent service quality and capacity to our customers.

Customer Relationship

  1. Develop and maintain customer relationships.
  2. Assist the BYD Aftersales management team during operational meetings with customers.
  3. Handle customer demands and complaints.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  1. You are passionate about new electric vehicle technology and the sustainable industry, and have the ability to work in a dynamic, international, and multicultural environment.
  2. You have solid mechanical and electrical systems knowledge.
  3. You speak English fluently and German as well as a native speaker.
  4. You have excellent communication skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  5. You are a team player, also able to solve problems independently; you are a doer who doesn’t mind a hands-on approach.
  6. You have a Category B passenger car driver license.
  7. You have the willingness to travel frequently within Germany (up to 50% of the time if requested).
  8. Relevant work experience with aftersales service of passenger cars will be a plus.
