Your mission
The short version: What's this about?
We build and operate pilot plants for a new process to produce green methanol – a climate-friendly fuel. For that, we need someone who gets hands-on, thinks along, and knows their trade.
No serial production, no assembly line. Instead: varied work on research plants, your own workshop, and a team of technicians, engineers and chemists working together as equals.
Your tasks – specifically
- Look after plants: Build, modify, maintain and repair pilot plants – pumps, valves, piping, sensors
- Run your own workshop: Your area, your responsibility – from organisation to tool procurement
- Metalwork: Tube bending (1/8\"–3/4\"), fittings (Swagelok & similar), minor machining work
- Electrical work: Run cables, swap components, check electrical connections
- Operate plants: Start up, monitor and document chemical pilot plants according to instructions
- Maintenance & inspection: Follow maintenance schedules, spot faults, repair or replace small components
- Safety: Work safely with pressurised systems and chemicals, following all health, safety and environmental regulations
Your profile
What you should bring:
- Completed vocational training as a mechatronics technician, industrial mechanic, plant mechanic, process mechanic or equivalent
- Hands‑on experience with pumps, valves and piping systems
- Basic knowledge of electrical engineering (wiring, reading circuit diagrams)
- Careful, reliable way of working
- Willingness to learn new things – no two days here are the same
Nice to have – not required:
- Experience with instrumentation & control (I&C) or PLC systems (e.g. Siemens S7)
- Practice in tube bending and reading isometric drawings
- Experience with Swagelok, Hylok or Fitok fittings
- Knowledge of handling hazardous substances (toxic or explosive gases)
- Experience in research, pilot plant or laboratory environments
- Electrical switching authorisation
Why us?
What we offer
- Pay: Competitive salary + opportunity to participate in our employee ownership programme (real shares, not just nice words)
- Variety: Every day is different – research plants, not production lines
- Autonomy: Your own workshop area, your own decisions
- Development: Want to learn PLC programming? Get a welding certificate? We'll support you.
- Flexibility: Childcare closed, plumber coming, personal appointment? We'll find a solution.
- Purpose: The process you help build is designed to make a real contribution to climate protection. If that matters to you – even better.
- Team: Flat hierarchies, short communication lines, no "we've always done it this way"
We welcome applications regardless of gender, origin or background – full-time or part-time.
