Overview
In this role you will orchestrate protection planning across AFRICOM’s area, aligning AT, law enforcement, Detainee Operations, Physical Security, OPSEC, and theater clearance with command intent. You’ll integrate plans, coordinate actions, and support senior leaders in rapid, time-sensitive decisions. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to shape protection strategies that preserve missions and personnel safety, and you’ll influence theater-entry policy and contingency planning at the highest levels.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Integrate and coordinate force protection plans across AT, Law Enforcement, Detainee Ops, Physical Security, Theater Clearance, and OPSEC
- Schedule, track, allocate resources, and manage short- and long-term planning calendars
- Represent J34 in FUOPS planning, exercise design, and Contingency OPLAN planning to align protection with command intent
- Develop concepts, plans, annexes, and procedures to synchronize protection requirements in peacetime, contingency, and wartime missions
- Provide guidance on protection functions in planning groups and integrate requirements into leadership briefings
- Synchronize DoD Theater Entry requirements with AFRICOM staff and components; serve as theater entry clearance expert
- Verify pre-deployment certifications and approve/deny theater clearance requests based on regulations and threat levels
- Prepare and transmit theater clearance messages; communicate time-sensitive force protection and tracking information to leadership
- Advise customers on travel, processing, and reporting theater clearance information
- Staff and approve Status Protection Waivers for countries lacking SOFA or other protections
- Organize and lead HQ and Service Component working groups; prepare policy letters, SOPs, and briefings on theater entry requirements
- Support briefs to senior leaders and commanders on theater entry matters
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Master’s degree in security Operations or related discipline with 6 years’ experience; or Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years experience; or 15 years experience
- Demonstrated expertise across AT, Law Enforcement, Detainee Operations, Physical Security, Theater Clearance, and OPSEC
- Experience representing protection in FUOPS, exercise planning, and Contingency OPLAN forums; producing protection planning artifacts
- Hands-on experience with theater-entry processes: interpreting the Foreign Clearance Guide, pre-deployment certifications, and theater clearances
- Ability to lead cross-functional working groups and author policy letters, SOPs, and executive-ready briefing materials
- Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills for briefing senior leaders and delivering time-sensitive protection information
