Overview
In this role you enable secure, mission-ready network infrastructure for DoD environments, focusing on high availability and performance across global WAN/LAN. You will blend traditional network engineering with automation and DevOps practices to support AFRICOM operations. You work with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain resilient networks and security controls. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Deploy, configure, and maintain DoD enterprise and datacenter networks for high availability across dispersed sites
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable network systems
- Configure complex enterprise routing and switching (DMVPN, MPLS Segment-Routing)
- Manage datacenter fabrics with Cisco ACI and Nexus
- Deploy and manage Palo Alto/Cisco Firepower firewalls (Panorama, FMC)
- Administer Cisco ISE for secure access and Zero Trust
- Provision and maintain KG encryptors (TACLANE)
- Develop automation frameworks using Ansible and Python; support SDA
- Maintain core services (F5, Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM)
- Identify performance bottlenecks and single points of failure
- Create DevOps maturation roadmap and promote IaC (Ansible)
- Gather metrics for performance, fault analysis, and after-action reporting
- Collaborate with operations to build automation use-cases and ensure rigorous testing and release processes
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
- Active Secret clearance (ability to obtain Top Secret if required)
- 5–10+ years of practical network engineering experience in large or military environments
- Strong programming/scripting with Python, Go, or PowerShell
- Hands-on with automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, VMware Aria Suite, ServiceNow)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Ansible
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II baseline (Security+ CE)
- U.S. Citizenship
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CASP preferred
