Overview
In this role, you will deliver secure, mission-ready DoD network infrastructure while driving automation and SDN adoption. You’ll bridge traditional networking with DevOps practices to support AFRICOM operations across multiple sites. You will design, deploy, and maintain high-availability networks and automation frameworks that streamline deployments. This opportunity lets you shape resilient, scalable networks and advance infrastructure as code in a critical defense environment.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Deploy, configure, and maintain DoD enterprise and data center networks with high availability across dispersed sites
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable network systems
- Manage complex routing/switching with DMVPN, MPLS SR, and related transports
- Operate Cisco ACI, Nexus platforms for datacenter fabrics
- Manage Palo Alto and Cisco Firepower firewalls with centralized management (Panorama, FMC)
- Administer Cisco ISE for secure access and zero-trust support
- Provision and maintain KG encryptors (e.g., TACLANE) for classified traffic
- Develop automation frameworks and use Ansible, Python, and REST APIs to enable SDA
- Maintain core services (F5 load balancers, Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM)
- Identify performance bottlenecks and single points of failure; drive reliability improvements
- Create a roadmap for DevOps maturity and adopt Infrastructure as Code (Ansible)
- Gather and analyze performance metrics for tuning and reporting
- Collaborate with operations to build automation use-cases and enforce rigorous release processes
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
- 5–10+ years of practical network engineering experience in large-scale enterprise or military settings
- Strong programming/scripting ability (Python, Go, or PowerShell)
- Hands-on experience with automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, VMware Aria Suite, ServiceNow)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Ansible
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
