The Opportunity:

CCI seeks a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Varonis security products to support the EUCOM organization under the ELITE contract. The SME will help optimize and streamline the use of the Varonis platform, focusing on enhancing cybersecurity protocols aligned with the DoD Zero Trust (ZT) Initiative. Responsibilities include integrating Varonis technology, implementing advanced scanning and analysis, and supporting efforts to improve data security, mitigate data spillage risks, and defend against emerging threats including AI.

The Responsibilities:

1. Architect, deploy, and maintain the Varonis Data Security Platform in accordance with DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture and DISA STIG requirements.
2. Integrate Varonis components (DatAdvantage, Data Classification Engine, DataPrivilege, DataAnswers) with Active Directory, SharePoint, Windows file systems, and NetApp environments.
3. Configure and optimize alerting, data analytics, and reporting tools to detect insider threats, privilege misuse, and policy violations.
4. Support CDM initiatives through risk-based access enforcement and behavioral analytics.
5. Ensure RMF compliance, with focus on NIST SP 800-53 controls related to access control, audit logging, and risk assessments.
6. Create dashboards and generate reports to support FOIA requests, incident tracking, cybersecurity posture, and operational planning.
7. Maintain documentation, conduct platform health checks, and lead Varonis technical support activities.
8. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and system owners to enforce least-privilege access policies and data protection measures.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
• Security Certification (Sec+/CISSP, etc.)
• Ability to pass TESA with a Bachelor’s degree + 3 years related experience, or an Associate’s degree + 11 years, or a High School diploma + 11 years.
• Experience with DatAdvantage, Active Directory, data management, and handling PII & PHI.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Varonis in enterprise or DoD settings.
• Strong understanding of Windows file systems, Active Directory, NAS (NetApp), and access control models.
• Experience in a DoD cybersecurity environment with knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and ZTA.
• Proficient in PowerShell or similar scripting languages.
• Knowledge of data classification, insider threat detection, and audit readiness.
• Understanding of data analytics and management principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Pay Range:

Salary varies based on location, experience, skills, and certifications. The range is $90,300 – $189,600 USD. We offer comprehensive benefits including healthcare, retirement, education, and time off. Learn more here.
