Senior Automation Engineer

Are you ready to lead groundbreaking advancements in life sciences automation? Join a forward-thinking consultancy and engineering firm supporting innovative projects in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Your Impact

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you’ll take a leadership role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation solutions that enhance GMP manufacturing operations. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust systems supporting efficient, compliant, and innovative drug substance production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation Systems Leadership : Develop and maintain advanced process control systems, particularly with Emerson DeltaV DCS and other platforms, ensuring lifecycle management and integration across manufacturing systems.
  • Project Collaboration : Partner with project teams to align automation solutions with business goals and timelines, focusing on start-up, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement : Leverage cutting-edge technology to optimize processes, improve system reliability, and reduce operational costs while enhancing safety and compliance.
  • Technical Support : Provide troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and 24/7 operational support for manufacturing and utility systems.
  • New Product & Technology Introduction : Lead automation assessments, implement configurations, and support qualification activities for new projects and technologies.

What You Bring

  • Proven Expertise :
    • Hands-on experience with automation systems like Emerson DeltaV , process control design, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
    • Knowledge of integration technologies (e.g., OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus) and regulations like GMP, GAMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 .
  • Project Experience : Capital project lifecycle management, including conceptual design, business case development, and execution.
  • Education : Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Biotech Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Soft Skills : Analytical thinking, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and a passion for solving complex challenges in a regulated environment.
