Head of Accounting

Your Role

As Head of Accounting you will lead and evolve the accounting and financial control function for a €100m IT services group operating in a dynamic and increasingly international environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance, and the development of finance systems and processes to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and further develop the finance and accounting function across the group (DACH & international subsidiaries).
• Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering high performance and collaboration.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance German GAAP
• Drive the development and execution of financial strategies to support business efficiency and resource optimization.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the budgeting process, forecasting, and financial analysis to provide commercial insight to executive leadership.
• Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Actively contribute to systems implementations and the integration of acquired businesses.
• Establish scalable finance processes in line with international growth and digitalization plans.

Your Profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a leadership role within a mid-sized or growth-stage business.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Hands-on, pragmatic, and proactive approach, with a strong drive for continuous improvement.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment with international ambitions.
• High level of proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics 365 / Navision), Lucanet.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
