Campbell Scientific is a global leader in environmental monitoring and data acquisition solutions. As part of establishing our new manufacturing site in Munich, we are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Technician / Test Technician (m/f/d).

You will manufacture and test electronic assemblies, systematically analyze faults, and perform component-level repairs. At the same time, you will support the development of new testing, repair, and quality processes at the Munich site and work closely with Engineering in Utah, USA.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, bench, and environmental testing
  • Conduct fault analysis and troubleshooting on electronic assemblies
  • Perform component-level repairs
  • Work with test stations, test fixtures, and measurement equipment
  • Document test and calibration results as well as technical deviations
  • Support the development of test, calibration, and inspection fixtures
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality Assurance
  • Train and onboard manufacturing employees and monitor performance metrics
  • Help improve testing, repair, and quality processes

Required Education & Relevant Experience

  • Completed vocational training and/or a bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, or a comparable field
  • At least two years of experience in an electronics or technical environment, ideally in testing, analysis, or repair of electronic assemblies
  • Ability to confidently work with schematics, datasheets, and test instructions
  • Strong technical understanding of electronic circuits, PCA assemblies, and testing and calibration processes
  • Structured, careful, and reliable working style
  • Good German and English language skills in a technical working environment
  • Willingness to learn new products, test systems, and processes
  • Willingness to cross-train in adjacent production areas and support other teams as needed
  • Knowledge of IPC standards, Lean Manufacturing, and experience with ISO 9001

A Plus

  • Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping
  • Experience with PCB rework or component-level repair
  • Certification in IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721, or J-STD-001
  • Experience with measurement equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, or function generators
  • Experience with ISO 9001 certifications, e.g., test processes or calibration procedure
