Overview

In this Senior Backend & Cloud Engineer role, you design high-performance backend services and lead cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will work within Camptocamp’s Infrastructure Department to implement modern architectures, IaC, and GitOps-driven deployments in a DevOps culture. You’ll balance backend development with cloud operations to build scalable, secure systems. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position that influences how we deliver robust software for clients and open source projects.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Design, develop, and maintain robust REST/gRPC APIs and microservices (Python/FastAPI, Go)
• Model data and optimize PostgreSQL schemas
• Ensure code quality with automated testing (unit/integration/e2e)
• Architect, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda)
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform/OpenTofu
• Operate Kubernetes (EKS) and implement GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux)
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Maintain observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Elastic) and ensure high availability

Zentrale Anforderungen

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• ≥5 years Backend Engineering with strong Cloud & Infra experience
• Proficiency in Python/FastAPI and Go
• Experience with REST/gRPC, SQL/NoSQL, and Clean Code
• Operational AWS experience (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, Networking)
• Solid IaC/GitOps experience with Terraform/OpenTofu, Kubernetes, ArgoCD or Flux
• Docker, CI/CD, and observability tooling
• Fluent French and technical English; German is essential for Swiss‑German collaboration
