DIRECTOR STRATEGY AND TRANSFORMATION CONSULTANT – LIFE SCIENCES

YOUR ROLE
As a Director in the Life Sciences Industry team in Switzerland, you will play an instrumental role in designing, selling and leading the delivery of innovative digital strategy and transformation projects around future-proof topics that challenge the status quo for top-tier clients from the pharmaceutical industry. You will work at the intersection of science, technology, and business – supporting our clients in accelerating their timelines, and improving business, quality, and compliance outcomes.
- Spearheading large-scale digital transformations across the Research and Development (R&D) spectrum for pharmaceutical clients from strategy to execution, leveraging your life science domain expertise, strategic thinking, understanding of cutting-edge data platforms and architecture, implementing effective solutions and managing key stakeholders and large teams;
- Effectively driving data-related projects covering data strategy, data governance, data quality, data lineage, data literacy, metadata and ontology etc. within the life sciences R&D domain;
- Strongly contributing to Capgemini’s market positioning and driving development of strategic offers, while expanding Capgemini’s footprint in key accounts;
- Driving account engagement and engaging in pre-sales and sales activities, from opportunity identification to proposal development and deal closure;
- Leading and mentoring a team of 10+ young talented LS professionals with diverse backgrounds and skillsets, fostering a culture of respect, collegiality, and strong team spirit;
- Delivering in-depth training and sharing domain expertise to build organizational capability.
YOUR PROFILE
- A degree in a life science or chemistry field, ideally in a quantitative/computational subfield;
- 10+ years of professional experience in consulting and/or in working in R&D for big pharmaceutical companies (at least 3 years of professional experience in consulting focusing on R&D domains within pharmaceutical clients is mandatory);
- Deep knowledge of the R&D environment in the pharmaceutical industry, specific domain expertise within life sciences R&D, and demonstrated interest in the Life Sciences industry and its applications, combined with strong network and personal visibility within the market;
- Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures and algorithms, as well as business processes, systems architecture and data flows;
- Excellent communication, presentation and moderation skills, with ease in conveying complex problems and solutions to a diverse audience in a clear and engaging manner;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; German or French proficiency (C1 level) is a strong advantage;
- Scientifical rigorousness in thinking and precision in language, yet comfortable navigating ambiguity and incomplete information;
- High adaptability to fast-changing environments with strong time management and ability to adapt strategies and approaches to meet evolving project needs and challenges;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to address complex challenges;
- Strong digital literacy, an eye for detail and very good MS Office skills (particularly in PowerPoint and Excel); programming skills in Python and/or R and familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, are beneficial;
- Experienced in management with proven leadership skills and high emotional intelligence, as well as confidence and maturity to work with senior management;
- Proven experience in identifying and developing business opportunities, with an active client network in Switzerland and a firm appetite for sales, including the creation of commercial proposals in collaboration with technology partners, hyperscalers, or providers of R&D data and platform solutions;
- Willingness and ability to go the extra mile when required.
