Job Description – Grade Specific
The Major Incident Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the response to critical incidents that have a significant impact on business operations. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication, and implementing incident management best practices to minimize the impact of disruptions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Rapidly assess and identify major incidents, classifying their impact and urgency.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to gather information and understand the scope of the incident.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams during the resolution of major incidents.
- Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to address critical issues promptly.
- Maintain a centralized incident log and track resolution progress.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including executives, IT teams, and end-users.
- Provide regular updates on the incident status, resolution progress, and expected timelines.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis for major incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions and improvements.
Documentation
- Document incident details, resolution processes, and post-incident reports.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of incident management procedures.
- Identify areas for improvement in incident management processes.
- Collaborate with teams to implement changes and enhancements to prevent future incidents.
