Your Role & Mission – We are looking for talented Mid-level and Senior Software Engineers to bring in frontend expertise and help build intuitive, responsive, and impactful user experiences using JavaScript and React. Your work will directly contribute to addressing climate change by helping enterprises reduce their carbon footprint through our innovative Carbmee EIS platform.

Our Hiring Process
Our Engineering team is growing fast and we are seeking talented Software Engineers across different backgrounds and experience levels. We know that each level of experience involves its own set of challenges and expectations, and the hiring process is tailored accordingly to evaluate all candidates effectively. That means, each interview step is focused on assessing both technical and soft skills across our engineering competency framework. Your tasks
We won’t list all tasks a Software Engineer should normally do. Instead, we say it’s up to you to make Carbmee one of the most reliable and bug-free software out there! Here is what you get to accomplish that goal:
- Work on a modern technology stack with JavaScript, React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS
- Shape our multi-component application and implement responsive and accessible UI designs
- Define and refine technical requirements for new features and improvements and optimize performance for smooth user experiences
- Work in small distributed interdisciplinary teams where everyone takes on ownership and responsibility
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and full-stack engineers to create elegant and functional user interfaces
- We lead with context and not control. You bring your ideas and decide where they fit
- Always learn something. No matter how experienced you are, be open-minded and hungry for knowledge
- Help fellow team members with your experience, work closely with our Head of Engineering and Engineering Leads, and shape the product roadmap
- For Senior Applicants – a fantastic opportunity to grow and lead a team. Mentor and support junior engineers, help them improve and build a successful team

Your profile
- We are looking for passionate and motivated engineers across different levels. Ideally, you have at least 5 years of professional experience in software development building web applications with TypeScript, React and Tailwind CSS
- We use the aforementioned technologies, so you must be able to adopt them quickly
- You preach reusable components and know a lot of ways to scale the application
- You are exceptionally detail-oriented and passionate about your work
- You rely on solid communication skills and you speak English at a fluent level
- It’s totally fine if you are not perfect at everything. At Carbmee there are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow
- You are a supportive team player with a strong work ethic, eager to learn and work independently as well as in a team environment
- You are passionate about business sustainability, carbon emissions management, and climate tech in alignment with Carbmee’s mission and vision
- You are excited to join our diverse and international team in Berlin or work remotely in alignment with Germany time zone
