At Cargomotion, we’re building the Digital Transaction Layer for Freight. Our vision is to become the AI-powered Salesforce for Freight, empowering logistics providers to win more customers, automate customer interactions and grow their business.
Rather than replacing the Transportation Management System (TMS), we build the intelligent commercial layer on top of it. Our platform combines ML-powered pricing, digital customer experiences and agentic workflows to help logistics providers increase revenue, improve profitability and eliminate manual work.
Our leadership team brings together 40+ years of experience building logistics technology at companies like InstaFreight and sennder. Now, we’re building the software that will define the next generation of freight forwarding.
The role
Road freight forwarding still runs on manual work and fragmented systems. That's exactly the gap we're closing. As a Forward Deployed Product Manager, you own product outcomes: you run discovery, decide what's worth building for our customers, prototype to prove it, and shape the direction of the platform. The role has a strong focus on customer success, especially customer onboarding and ramp-up. You work forward-deployed, from inside customer deployments rather than from a desk, and you measure success by whether forwarders reach value quickly and adopt, not just by whether features shipped.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing PM role, backed by a low-code and applied-AI toolkit built for exactly this kind of work. You spend real time embedded with customers, and obsess over time-to-value during onboarding. You turn what you learn in the field into durable improvements to the core platform.
What you'll do
- Work forward-deployed. Embed with newly onboarded customers and live in their operational reality, e.g. how they price, quote, and run their business. Build deep trust with their operators, and get past the stated request to the actual problem, structuring it clearly even when the customer can't yet articulate it.
- Own customer onboarding, ramp-up, and time-to-value. Treat a fast, successful onboarding as your definition of success. Sequence the path from signed contract to production value, remove friction, and partner with Commercial to make every forwarder ramp fast and stick. You're accountable for transport volume and revenue KPIs tied to that ramp.
- Prototype hands-on (low-code + AI). Turn a use case into something the customer can touch within days: configure the platform and assemble working prototypes with low-code tooling, connectors, and our AI capabilities (agents, LLM-based workflows, prompting). Iterate with the customer, prove the value, then help harden what works.
- Turn field reality into product direction. Distinguish a customer's stated request from their real problem from what the platform should actually do. When the same need shows up across several forwarders, make the case to productize it, and write crisp, one-page problem theses that improve the core platform and the next deployment.
- Close the loop with engineering. Bring engineers into customer conversations directly, drive tight execution, and make sure what you learn in the field durably changes what gets built.
What you'll bring
- 3 - 5 years in product management, ideally B2B/SaaS, with real ownership of what gets built and why.
- A strong customer-success orientation: you're unusually customer-centric for a PM, energized by embedding in the customer's world, and you judge your work by value realized and adoption, including how fast and how well new customers onboard and ramp up.
- A “ship-fast-and-iterate” mindset: you're highly familiar with agile product development, comfortable working in short cycles, and quick to test an idea in the real world rather than perfect it on paper.
- Sharp product judgment: you separate the stated request from the underlying problem, can say no and explain why, and know what's worth generalizing into the platform.
- A hands-on building instinct: you prototype to prove value using low-code/automation tooling and applied AI (designing prompts and agentic/LLM workflows; conversant in RAG, embeddings, connectors), enough to build with, not necessarily to train models.
- Comfort working forward-deployed: embedding with customers, building trust with operators, and partnering with commercial and customer success teams.
- Data fluency: comfortable with APIs, spreadsheets, and basic SQL; able to reason about data models and integrations.
- German (our customers mainly operate in German; English is our working language).
Nice to have
- Domain experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or another operationally complex B2B environment.
- Experience embedding with or deploying into enterprise customers, and comfort with the travel that involves.
- Familiarity with pricing/quoting or tariff-driven workflows.
What success looks like (first 6-12 months)
- Newly onboarded customers reach first production value measurably faster (shorter time-to-first-value), and adoption grows beyond it.
- Customers trust you to translate their reality into a platform that actually works for them. You own product outcomes in the field.
- Field signal you generate visibly changes the roadmap, and the patterns you surface graduate into productized platform capability.
What we offer
- High ownership and autonomy. A high-impact product role at the center of an AI-native platform solving real operational problems. You own meaningful outcomes, have the autonomy to decide how to get there, and see the impact of your work directly in our customers’ businesses and our product.
- A steep learning curve. Work on complex product and business problems, directly with customers and alongside an experienced team, with dedicated time and budget for your own development.
- An experienced, entrepreneurial team. Work closely with founders and product and engineering leaders who've spent years building and scaling technology businesses, with deep expertise in European road freight.
- Impact in an industry that matters. Road freight is critical infrastructure for the European economy, yet much of it still runs on manual work and fragmented systems. We're building the technology that helps forwarders operate more efficiently, decide faster, and move freight with fewer wasted resources.
- A competitive package. Competitive compensation, a meaningful equity package, and a flexible hybrid/remote setup.
