CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research
ppAt CERN , the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. /p h3Job Description /h3 pbIntroduction /b /p pYou will provide support in the field of civil engineering to the senior members of the team working across all preparatory aspects of the FCC civil engineering in particular in the fields of site investigations, geotechnical engineering, structural and civil design. /p pYou will be responsible for preparing technical and contractual documentation relating to these technical areas and following up of contracts awarded by CERN for FCC preparatory civil engineering related activities. /p h3Functions /h3 ul liYou will undertake discreet technical tasks in the fields of site investigations, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering and planning of preparatory civil engineering activities. /li liSupported by other members of the civil engineering team, you will contribute to maintaining the schedule for FCC civil engineering preparatory activities and support the technical and administrative work related to permitting and authorisation files required by CERN. /li liYou will interact and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across a range of interfacing, technical and administrative disciplines, including for preparatory activities undertaken outside CERN sites such as site investigations or environmental condition surveys. /li liWith support from other members of the team, you will prepare technical documentation for contracts and services associated with the FCC civil engineering programme, in view of potential future implementation. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 pMaster's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field. /p pbExperience: /b /p ul liExperience in civil and/or geotechnical engineering, including buried and underground structures. /li liExperience in preparing technical specifications and managing consultancy and construction contracts for civil engineering design and construction activities. /li liHave a broad understanding of civil engineering in other areas such as buildings, drainage, roads and buried networks. /li liHave a proven record of data management in the field of civil engineering. /li liProject management. /li liCivil work. /li liAchieving Results: having a structured and organised approach towards work; being able to set priorities and plan tasks with results in mind. /li liAchieving Results: defining clear objectives, milestones and deliverables before initiating work/ project. /li liDemonstrating Flexibility: adapting quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements. /li liDemonstrating Flexibility: readily accepting new tasks or work/projects. /li /ul pSpoken and written both English and French. /p h3Additional Information /h3 pbEligibility and closing date: /b /p pDiversity has been an integral part of CERN's mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization.
