High-temperature superconducting materials have interesting characteristics that make them suitable for future magnet applications. Come join CERN and take part in this exciting development.
You will develop and implement electromechanical systems for the manufacture and assembly of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets, as part of an ongoing research and development (R&D) programme. Your work will involve coil winding and assembly, instrumentation and tooling, bringing together mechanical, electrical and control technologies.
Design and implement dedicated systems to produce high-temperature superconductor-based (HTS) coils, considering mechanical, electrical and control aspects, according to applicable safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct regular maintenance of machinery, electromechanical systems and technical infrastructure in the HTS magnet laboratory.
Prepare technical documentation, including procedures, test and measurement reports, and ensure traceability of components.
Coordinate component logistics and stock for assigned assemblies; initiate and follow up manufacturing requests and purchase orders.
