Join CERN’s Platforms Workflows group in the IT department, where we build and operate the Identity and Access Management systems used daily by thousands of researchers, engineers, and collaborators. The role offers the opportunity to deepen your full‑stack expertise while gaining hands‑on experience with modern service operations, security practices, and large‑scale digital identity systems. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign, develop and maintain modern web applications built on a .NET backend and React frontend. /li liParticipate in architectural decisions and contribute to the technical evolution of the IAM platform. /li liParticipate in service operations, including deployments, troubleshooting, monitoring, and continuous improvements. /li liSupport and guide junior team members, sharing best practices and contributing to a positive engineering culture. /li liCollaborate closely with users and stakeholders: provide advanced user support, gather requirements and enhance the service to meet the evolving needs of the organisation. /li liEnsure quality and reliability through documentation, testing, and adherence to security standards. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Computer Science or a related field. /li liDemonstrated experience in development and maintenance of web applications using modern backend and frontend technologies (e.g. .NET, Java, React, relational databases). /li liExperience contributing to the architecture and technical design of software systems. /li liExperience operating software services (debugging, deploying, monitoring, upgrading). /li liAbility to engage with users, understand requirements, and provide high?quality support. /li liKnowledge of programming techniques and languages, advanced knowledge of .NET, C# (or Java), relational databases and SQL (Oracle, MySQL or similar), ReactJS. /li liAdministration of computing systems, upgrades, application of security patches, system and data migrations, backup and recovery, monitoring and alerting. /li liKnowledge and application of software life‑cycle tools and procedures, proficiency with Git, CI/CD tools, containerised deployments. /li liKnowledge of best practices for implementing ICT security standards and policies. /li liCapturing and analysis of requirements for ICT systems. /li liAchieving results: delivering high quality work on time and fulfilling expectations. /li liWorking in teams: working well in groups and readily fitting into a team; participating fully and taking an active role in team activities. /li liCommunicating effectively: demonstrating a pro‑active approach to resolving differences; addressing issues of conflict constructively. /li liDemonstrating flexibility: adapting quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements. /li liLearning and sharing knowledge: sharing knowledge and expertise freely and willingly with others; coaching others to ensure knowledge transfer. /li /ul pSpoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French. /p h3Eligibility and Closing Date /h3 pDiversity has been an integral part of CERN's mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization.
