Job Description – Associate Development Engineer Research (f/m/x) )
Responsibilities
- Contribute to Kautex‘ development activities with focus on Injection Molded Battery Enclosures & Underbody protection including product design, material selection, virtual validation, Injection Molding processing & tooling, sampling and validation
- Contribute to Kautex‘ development activities in the field of recycling & design-for-recycling
- Innovate Kautex new products through ideas/inventions and prototyping/sampling
- Prepare results / attend discussions with customers & suppliers
- Interact with internal and external partners for Design Verification Plan (DVP), Quality and DFMEAs
- Actively support the ideation process and IP related activities
- Supervise and coordinate trainee and undergraduate projects
- Cooperation with external partners & universities/institutes
- Safety of employees is very important to Kautex, therefore any suggestions to improve work-safe safety or working practices is very welcome
- Contribute to the development of thermal and electrical features in thermoplastic parts
Qualifications
- Technical University Degree (Bs or Ms) in plastics technology or related field
- PhD preferred
- Practical experience & technology knowhow within the field of plastics technology and polymers, with a special focus on Injection Molding Technology (design for plastics, material selection, injection molding process & equipment, sampling and validation)
- Hands-on experience in thermal and/or electrical engineering
- Practical experience & technology knowhow within the field of sustainability & recycling of plastics preferred
- Strong Network in the plastics technology industry & universities
- Practical experience in R&D, ideally in automotive industry preferred
- International experience preferred
- Fluent German and English language skills
