Manager - Finance & Accounting Advisory - Capital Markets
To strengthen our team in the newly established Zurich office, we are looking for an experienced, team-oriented, and motivated Manager (100%) to join us.
As a Manager at CFGI, you turn complex accounting and reporting questions into clear solutions, lead project delivery teams, and act as the trusted day-to-day contact for clients. Your clients span listed companies, mid-caps, private‑equity portfolio companies, and high‑growth scale‑ups.
You set the standard for technical quality, keep engagements on time and on budget, and manage the relationships and expectations of senior finance stakeholders. Just as importantly, you coach and grow the (Senior) Consultants around you and help shape how the practice itself develops.
It is demanding, varied, and highly visible work - from one mandate to the next, you deepen your expertise, widen your network, and build a career inside a PE‑backed, fast‑scaling advisory firm.
Key responsibilities You advise clients on the complex accounting and financial reporting matters that shape their most important decisions, including:
M&A accounting: Shape the accounting and reporting that underpins major M&A transactions - purchase accounting, combined financial statements, pro‑forma financial information, and post‑deal finance integration.
Capital Markets & IPO services: Guide companies to the capital markets - from IPO readiness and execution through post‑listing requirements.
CFO Advisory: Provide support on management and lender reporting, controllership and FP&A, including assessments evaluating quality and scalability.
Technical & operational accounting: Advise clients on GAAP conversions, consolidations, audit‑ready reporting and closing procedures, and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
Lead engagements from first scope to final delivery - manage engagement economics, delivery risk, and stakeholder expectations.
You are a significant part of growing the Swiss practice - spotting opportunities within existing relationships, contributing to proposals, and building new business.
Add to the firm's voice through developing new service offerings, hosting events and preparing publications.
Coach and develop (Senior) Consultants through technical review, mentorship, and honest feedback.
Required qualifications You will recognise yourself in most of the following:
An academic background in accounting, finance, or economics, ideally paired with a qualified accountant credential (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Five to seven years in a Big 4 or comparable advisory environment, or in a senior technical accounting or financial reporting role in industry.
Deep, applied knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP (SCO and/or Swiss GAAP FER a plus), applied to complex standards in a client‑facing or technical accounting setting.
Fluent in German (mandatory) and English.
Attributes for success The qualities and skills that will take you furthest with us:
Confidence working with modern finance technology and digital tools in advisory delivery.
The interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with senior finance stakeholders, (e.g. CFOs, controllers, audit committees, and external auditors, etc.)
Curiosity, a collaborative instinct, and the ambition to thrive somewhere entrepreneurial and growing fast.
A track record of leading several engagements at once, managing their economics, and delivering quality work under tight timelines.
Benefits We invest in our people and back it up with real benefits:
Above‑average compensation, comprising base pay, variable remuneration, and a stock‑based long‑term incentive plan (LTIP)
Pillar 2 occupational pension plan with increased savings rates, 60% funded by the employer
SBB half‑fare travelcard
Mobile phone with a fully covered European carrier plan
Sponsorship for professional memberships and qualifications (e.g. ACCA, CFA)
Regular company events and international team offsites
