Data Center Facility Solution Manager in Düsseldorf

Role Overview

We are looking for a technically minded Solution Manager to support major data center projects across Europe. You will analyse hyperscale and edge data center tenders and develop competitive concept solutions for power distribution (LV/MV) or cooling systems.

This is a presales and technical solutions role, rather than an account management position. You will work closely with clients' technical stakeholders, including CTOs, engineering teams and consulting firms, to demonstrate the value of proposed solutions and support successful project bids.

The role involves cross-border collaboration on strategic tenders, including solution architecture, technical discussions, value proposition development and bid strategy.

We welcome candidates from different technical backgrounds who have strong fundamentals, excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Consulting: Conduct pre-bid technical discussions with clients and consultants to understand requirements and communicate solution advantages.
• Bid Strategy: Analyse tender specifications and develop competitive technical solutions and bid strategies.
• Solution Design: Collaborate with engineering, R&D and design teams on system selection and concept development.
• Value Proposition: Translate technical advantages into clear commercial benefits and professional client-facing presentations.
• Technical Proposals: Support proposal preparation and manage technical clarifications throughout the bidding process.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage technical decision-makers and engineering consultants to ensure alignment on proposed solutions.

Candidate Profile

Background

Experience in data center power distribution or cooling systems is advantageous, but direct data center experience is not essential.

Candidates from the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply:

• EPC contractors and general contractors
• Engineering and design consultancies
• Electrical equipment, switchgear and UPS manufacturers
• MV/LV power distribution and power systems
• Building services, HVAC and critical-facility cooling
• Technical presales or solution engineering roles
• Solid technical knowledge of electrical systems (MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS and PDUs) or cooling systems for buildings and critical facilities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical stakeholders credibly.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to learn new technologies, products and data center standards quickly.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% across Europe.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with data center standards such as TIA-942 and Uptime Tier classifications.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards and codes, including IEC, EN or NEC.
• Experience with integrated electrical and cooling system design.
• Familiarity with BIM, Revit or AutoCAD Electrical.
