We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Indirect Procurement Consultant specializing in Professional Services to join our team in Hamburg. This role is ideal for a procurement professional with a strong consulting background, excelling in client-facing environments and driving sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Execution: Lead and execute sourcing projects within Professional Services, particularly in consulting and legal services procurement. Manage the source-to-contract process, ensuring alignment with business needs and procurement best practices. Develop category strategies to optimize costs, enhance supplier relationships, and drive operational efficiencies.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management: Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating their requirements into effective sourcing strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with key consulting and legal service providers. Negotiate and structure agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities, assess supplier performance, and inform decision-making. Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) to generate insights and present findings. Track and report KPIs, ensuring procurement strategies align with business objectives.
- Project & Program Management: Manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful execution. Develop compelling presentations to communicate strategies and insights to senior leadership. Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, and category management teams to optimize procurement outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
- Procurement Expertise: 3+ years of experience in indirect procurement, focusing on professional services sourcing (consulting, legal, HR, or related categories).
- Consulting Background: 1-3 years of consulting experience in a Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm is strongly preferred.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and drive cost efficiencies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders.
- Analytical Proficiency: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Power BI or similar analytics tools is a plus.
- Project Management: Ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and German is required.
