Country Manager (M / F / D) Ch & Ee

You will work in a small team that supports the implementation of the CERN Open Science policy signed in 2022.

More specifically, you will take on the following responsibilities:

• Design the CERN Open Science community engagement strategy, e.g., analyze the needs and gaps and define the corresponding project plan.
• Design and implement educational interventions to promote improved Open Science practice across the CERN community.
• Support concrete implementation projects of the OS Policy.
• Support the monitoring framework for Open Science together with the community.
• Participate in cross-CERN initiatives to advance Open Science.
• Provide user/community support.

Your profile:

Skills:

• Experience with Open Science, preferably with a deep understanding of Open Science practices in a science domain.
• Experience with community engagement.
• Experience in designing and delivering educational programs/interventions.
• Experience with presenting at events.
• Experience working in a research environment.
• Knowledge of physics/particle physics is an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

• You are a national of a country.
• You have a professional background in Electronic Engineering (or a related field) and have either: a Master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience, or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

Additional Information:

Job closing date: 7th of January 2025 at 23:59 (midnight) CET.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week.

What we offer:

• A monthly stipend ranging between 6212 and 6828 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).

• Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child, and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of the contract.
• 30 days of paid leave per year.
• On-the-job and formal training at CERN as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French.
