Established in the Geneva and Annecy regions, the company works with public and private project owners, local authorities, engineering firms, and construction companies. Our missions notably concern retaining structures, earthworks, excavations, slope and rock mass stability, groundwater, risks, and monitoring of geotechnical works.As part of the development of our activity in Switzerland, we are looking for a senior geotechnical engineer capable of managing projects with a high level of autonomy.Job descriptionReporting directly to management, you will ensure the technical and project management of geotechnical projects, from the analysis of the client's needs to the monitoring of works. You will work on varied projects in French-speaking Switzerland and will gradually participate in the development and management of the firm's activity.Main missions- Analyze client requests and define the scope of work;- Carry out field visits and establish initial geological and geotechnical hypotheses;- Define and organize reconnaissance campaigns: surveys, tests, sampling, and measurements;- Supervise survey companies, laboratories, and specialized stakeholders;- Interpret the results of reconnaissance and geotechnical tests;- Establish geological, hydrogeological, and geotechnical models;- Define calculation parameters and design hypotheses;- Draft reports, technical notes, expert assessments, and specifications;- Perform and supervise geotechnical calculations;- Design and dimension retaining structures, excavation shoring, drainage works, embankments, and earthworks;- Study the stability of slopes, embankments, and rock masses;- Prepare technical documents for tender dossiers;- Analyze company offers and participate in negotiation meetings;- Ensure execution monitoring and site inspections;- Implement site tests and controls;- Adapt solutions to conditions actually encountered on the ground;- Ensure monitoring of deadlines, hours, budgets, and project profitability;- Prepare technical and financial offers;- Maintain relationships with clients, partners, and companies;- Contribute to the commercial development of the activity;- Participate in the development of methods, document templates, and calculation tools.This position involves a significant amount of fieldwork, technical writing, calculation, and research.Profile- Civil engineering degree with a specialization in geotechnics, geological engineering degree, or equivalent from a university or technical university;- At least 5 years of professional experience in geotechnics;- Experience in autonomous project management, preferably within an engineering firm;- Mastery of soil mechanics and engineering geology principles;- Experience in the dimensioning of retaining structures, excavations, earthworks, and geotechnical works;- Ability to interpret reconnaissance campaigns and in-situ tests;- Good knowledge of SIA standards and Eurocodes;- Mastery of geotechnical calculation software such as TALREN, K-REA, LARIX is essential;- Excellent command of French, both oral and written;- Good writing skills and ability to produce clear and argued technical documents;- Valid driver's license;- Valid work permit in Switzerland.Skills also appreciated:- Mastery of GIS software, notably QGIS or ArcGIS;- Knowledge of hydrogeology and rock mechanics;- Experience in geotechnical instrumentation: piezometers, inclinometers, and measurement monitoring;- Knowledge of the procedures and requirements of the Swiss Federal Railways (CFF) or the Federal Roads Office (OFROU);- Experience with public procurement and tenders;- Skills in soil and groundwater pollution;- Good knowledge of spoken and written German.Qualities- Autonomy and sense of responsibility;- Technical rigor;- Analytical and synthesis capacity and respect for deadlines;- Ease in the field;- Ability to make decisions and manage unforeseen events;- Good interpersonal skills with clients and companies;- Ability to work within a small structure;- Versatility, responsiveness, and team spirit;- Interest in the transmission of knowledge and working methods.What we offer- Varied projects in geology, geotechnics, hydrogeology, and risks;- Strong proximity to the field and construction sites;- Real autonomy in project management;- Direct contact with clients and management;- Short decision-making circuits;- The possibility to contribute directly to the development of the firm in Switzerland;- Expanded technical and commercial responsibilities;- Salary defined according to experience, skills, level of autonomy, and commercial results;- An evolution perspective that could eventually lead to taking over the firm's Swiss operations. jidd9e16faaen jit0833aen jpiy26aen
