What you can expect

1. Lead and drive application security efforts at Chrono24, a platform exposed to significant cyber threats due to the high value of luxury watches sold, ranging up to $1.5 million.
2. Act as the security lead for software applications, defining best practices and steering security initiatives across our global product and tech team of 100+ members.
3. Own and execute the application security roadmap, aligning technical goals with business priorities.
4. Develop secure software using technologies like Java 21, Spring, GitLab CI, Elastic, and AWS.
5. Focus on defensive security by embedding secure practices early in the development lifecycle.
6. Collaborate across teams to ensure security is built into architecture, code, and deployment.
7. Help foster a security-first engineering culture that balances strong protection with agile delivery.

What sets you apart

1. Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to application security programs within modern technology organizations.
2. Hands-on experience serving as the go-to person for incident response and security investigations.
3. Strong programming skills in Java, combined with solid knowledge of operating systems, firewalls, network security, and encryption.
4. Deep understanding of security architecture and secure design principles.
5. Familiarity with industry compliance standards such as ISO 27001 and NIS-2.
6. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and securing cloud environments, particularly AWS.
7. A pragmatic and collaborative approach to partnering with engineering teams to implement effective security practices.
