Context: The Lausanne University Hospital Centre (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospital institutions worldwide according to the
Newsweek 2025
ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research and training. Within the Hospital Logistics Department (DLOH), the Hospitality Service catering includes several
large-scale kitchens
producing more than
2.2 million meals
annually for patients, staff and visitors. More than
280 professionals
work there with dedication and a service spirit. Thanks to our
numerous cafeterias and restaurants ,
you rotate through positions
(production, pastry, cold kitchen, service line) and
develop sought-after versatility .
Mission: You develop
dishes and menus
according to seasons, products and the needs of our various clients (patients, staff, visitors) You prepare food preparation (peeling, washing, cutting, weighing, portioning) then
finish the dishes
composing the menus You apply the main
cooking methods
(blanching, sautéing, poaching, stewing, gratinating, roasting, grilling, braising) mastering time and temperature You
plate and present
appetising dishes, both visually and in taste. You participate in the
preparation of menus
and snacks for events related to CHUV (aperitifs, functions, fairs) You contribute to
ordering, receiving and storing
foodstuffs in compliance with legislation and hygiene rules ( HACCP ) You maintain
workstations , assess the hygienic condition of facilities, clean and
sort waste
according to institutional guidelines You discover
all kitchen stations
(including cold kitchen, pastry and butchery) to develop comprehensive skills. Profile: You have completed your
compulsory schooling
and wish to learn a manual, practical and useful trade You are
creative , imaginative and have a sense of taste and presentation You work with
speed ,
rigour
and
organisation , even during "rush hours" You are
flexible
and able to adapt to
irregular
or
weekend
hours You
handle stress well , enjoy
teamwork
and contact with others. You are able to
integrate into different teams
