Our group aims to understand the neural basis of cognition. We use a combination of in vivo calcium imaging and Neuropixels recordings as well as computational techniques to investigate population activity in cortical circuits. The department is embedded in the vibrant neuroscience community at the CIPMM and offers a highly interdisciplinary research environment.
Your role:
- perform cutting edge analysis of in vivo datasets, including of high-density Neuropixels recordings and/or calcium imaging datasets,
- design, implement and further develop novel population analysis routines,
- work hand-in hand with experimentalists to shape ongoing and new projects.
- MSc in Physics, Mathematics, Neuroscience or a related field,
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Computational Neuroscience or a related field,
- Fluency in English,
- Prior experience with population analysis or network modelling,
- Advanced programming skills, ideally in Python,
- Strong motivation and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of interdisciplinary teams.
The position is initially for 2 years with the possibility to prolong. The salary scheme follows the German TV-L 13 (100%).
