What you'll be doing Designing and prototyping algorithms for advanced audio coding, including pre-processing and post-processing techniques to improve audio quality. Participate in the productization process of the prototyped algorithms. Contribute to patent IP. Contribute with high-quality publications. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in research, development, evaluation and productization of speech and audio coding, including methods for: signal preprocessing techniques for optimal bandwidth utilization, packet loss concealment, post-processing methods for improving quality of low-bitrate audio, pitch estimation, voice activity detection, signal classification, time-scale modification techniques for audio synchronization and network jitter compensation. Good understanding of modern lossy speech and audio coding standards, including AAC and Opus. Strong background in machine learning and deep neural networks. Strong background in signal processing, speech modeling, adaptive filtering and related fields. Rapid algorithm prototyping experience in MATLAB, Python or C++. Inquisitive, proactive and systematic working habits. Demonstrated ability to innovate and make architectural trade-offs for balancing performance/cost. Bonus qualifications Prior experience in developing deep learned models for one or more of the above problems. Implementing Education Graduate degree in a relevant field. Ph.D. is a plus. Why Cisco?
