Assistant Corporation Counsel – Tort

Under the general supervision of the Unit Chief and the Deputy Unit Chiefs of the State Law Enforcement Defense Group, the Assistant Unit Chief assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Unit. This AUC will primarily oversee the SLED Intake team ACC’s and Support, and will also be responsible for in-unit settlement projects.

After orientation, attorneys hired by the Law Department will have the opportunity to work from home under one of two programs:

1. Limited and irregular remote work, or
2. A Citywide pilot program allowing two set days of remote work each week, with prior approval from the division and considering staffing needs.

Attorneys in the pilot program must select a consistent remote work location and may need to attend in-person events on scheduled work-from-home days. This pilot is citywide and experimental, not yet permanent.
