The Quality Specialist / Compliance Analyst / Quality Assurance Engineer supports the quality, consistency, and compliance of the organisation’s products, services, and processes. This role evaluates performance against defined requirements, identifies defects and control gaps, and coordinates improvements that strengthen reliability, reduce risk, and support customer satisfaction. Depending on the position, the scope may include quality management systems, compliance monitoring, product verification, or process assurance.
The position works closely with Engineering, Production, Product, Legal, Risk, Procurement, Customer Support, and internal audit teams, as relevant to the business. Responsibilities include reviewing procedures and records, conducting inspections or tests, analysing non-conformances, supporting audits, investigating recurring issues, and tracking corrective actions. The role maintains clear evidence of findings, communicates risks to responsible teams, and verifies that improvements address the underlying causes.
For Quality Specialist positions, the emphasis is on quality procedures, document control, process monitoring, and continuous improvement. Compliance Analyst positions focus on assessing applicable obligations, reviewing controls, investigating exceptions, and reporting compliance gaps. Quality Assurance Engineer positions concentrate on test planning, verification, defect analysis, and engineering quality controls. Across these functions, the role promotes consistent standards and provides practical recommendations supported by accurate data and documented evidence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Business, Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in quality assurance, quality control, compliance analysis, auditing, testing, or process improvement.
- Understanding of quality management principles, risk assessment, internal controls, and evidence-based reporting.
- For Quality Specialist positions, experience maintaining quality procedures, controlled documents, inspection records, and quality performance reports.
- Ability to investigate non-conformances, conduct root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- For Compliance Analyst positions, experience interpreting applicable policies and requirements and assessing their implementation.
- Ability to review records, evaluate control effectiveness, identify compliance gaps, and document findings clearly.
- For Quality Assurance Engineer positions, experience developing test plans, acceptance criteria, verification procedures, and defect reports.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering, manufacturing, or software testing methods appropriate to the organisation’s products.
- Experience supporting internal audits, external assessments, or supplier quality reviews and following findings through to closure.
- Ability to analyse defect trends, process variations, quality metrics, and recurring control failures.
- Proficiency in Excel and relevant quality management, compliance tracking, document control, or test-management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, traceable, and confidential records.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to explain findings and agree practical actions across teams.
- Relevant quality, audit, compliance, or testing certification is an advantage, depending on the position and industry.
