Overview
In this role you define and lead the electrical, instrumentation, and controls direction for the EIC Department, ensuring compliant, operable designs. You own the owner requirements, drive system reliability, and oversee contractor submissions. You collaborate with process, mechanical, and project teams to deliver integrated, winter-ready EIC solutions for a climate-tech plant. You will mentor the team, document decisions, and push continuous improvement while navigating cold-weather constraints.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Define and maintain EIC technical direction, specifications, and design basis for global execution
- Review and approve contractor submissions, clarify requirements, and ensure schedule, quality, safety, and operability
- Lead reliability initiatives and evaluate/implement emerging technologies (smart instrumentation, advanced controls, energy efficiency)
- Coordinate cross-functional design with process, mechanical, and project management teams to ensure integrated solutions
- Supervise and coach junior staff, conduct lessons-learned and maintain thorough technical records
- Incorporate Alberta-style climate conditions into EIC design and execution (freeze protection, winterization, cold start/commissioning)
- Ensure constructability and safe operation/maintenance in winter conditions, including temporary works and interface planning with cold-weather activities
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years in process plants, preferably in cold weather climates
- Experience leading teams
- Hands-on involvement in at least one full-cycle project (FEED to start-up) in mining, water treatment, or similar industries
- Expertise in low and medium voltage electrical systems, industrial instrumentation, and control systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders
- Willingness to travel up to 60% (including extended site presence in Alberta)
