Platform Engineer – Firmware/Linux

About The Role
We are looking for a Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Linux and systems engineering. You will optimize system performance and ensure our hardware runs at peak efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom Linux distributions for servers
- Optimize firmware and BIOS settings for maximum performance
- Implement automated provisioning and configuration management
- Debug and resolve low-level system issues
- Work with hardware vendors on driver and firmware updates
- Performance tuning and benchmarking of storage and network systems
- Contribute to infrastructure automation tooling
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Linux systems at a low level
- Deep understanding of Linux kernel, systemd, and boot processes
- Experience with firmware updates and BIOS/UEFI configuration
- Strong knowledge of storage systems (NVMe, RAID, filesystems)
- Networking expertise (TCP/IP, bonding, SR-IOV)
- Proficiency in C, Python, or Go
- Good communication skills in German and English
Nice to Have
- Experience with IPMI/BMC management
- Knowledge of PCIe and hardware interfaces
- Contributions to open-source projects
