Who we are looking for?

We are seeking a talented and creative individual for the position of Techpreneur Software Engineer at CMPG. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of digitalisation and reduction of emissions footprint by leveraging our company\’s expertise and technological advancements. The successful candidate will join our dynamic R&D-driven team based in Germany and will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions in digital engineering, including areas such as interoperability, ontology engineering, industry 4.0, industrial internet of things, cross-domain decision support, as well as machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). In addition to software development, the role involves contributing to project administration and business development efforts. Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic about solving scientific problems with software and possess a strong desire to make meaningful contributions to our industrial customer base.

Responsibilities

• Directly contribute to the design, development, and application of our flagship technology, The World Avatar
• Use cutting-edge technology to deliver novel solutions to customer problems
• Create, document, and maintain high-quality code for fellow developers and users
• Develop collaborative R&D proposals with industry, academia, and research community
• Identify growth opportunities, generate leads and establish strong relationships with customers
• Collaborate in team discussions, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to contribute to innovative ideas and solutions
• Support projects not only from a technical standpoint but also from project management and administrative perspectives.
• Regularly communicate and report to the head office in Cambridge, UK

Qualifications and Skills

• You have actively developed software using object-oriented programming (e.g. Java)
• You regularly use at least one scripting language (e.g. Python) to manipulate and visualise data
• Good knowledge of computational models or numerical methods including ML and IoT
• You can demonstrate excellent documentation practices and reporting of technical work
• You are well-organised and able to work to deadlines in a dynamic, technical environment
• Fluency in German and English with the ability to communicate technical concepts

What would really help?

• Experience leading or supervising team members or researchers
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning/AI algorithms and techniques
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and build strong relationships internally and externally.
• Knowledge of ontologies and their use in semantic web applications
• You are comfortable using version control systems (Git) and Unix environments
