ph3Job Description /h3 pSwisslinx is supporting an international organisation in the search for an experienced Librarian to join its Information Governance Management function on a long‑term contract in Basel. /p pThis is an excellent opportunity for a proactive information professional who is passionate about knowledge management, research services, and emerging technologies. You will play a key role in ensuring information assets are effectively managed, accessible, and preserved while helping to drive innovation through the practical application of AI within library services. /p pWorking as part of a collaborative team, you will deliver high‑quality research support, manage digital and physical collections, oversee library platforms and electronic resources, and contribute to projects that enhance information management across the organisation. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDeliver research, literature search and reference services to internal stakeholders. /li liProduce research digests, current awareness bulletins, reading lists and curated information resources. /li liProvide training and guidance on discovery tools, advanced search techniques and reference management. /li liManage collection development, including acquisition, evaluation and lifecycle management of print and digital resources. /li liAdminister electronic resources, licences and access in collaboration with IT teams. /li liNegotiate contracts with external content providers and support procurement and budget activities. /li liCreate and maintain catalogue records, metadata, taxonomies and controlled vocabularies to improve discoverability. /li liIdentify opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve library services and operational efficiency. /li liAdminister library platforms, monitor data quality and coordinate with vendors on system enhancements. /li liEnsure compliance with copyright, licensing and information governance requirements. /li liTrack service KPIs and deliver insights to support continuous improvement initiatives. /li liDocument operational procedures and contribute to policy development. /li liBuild and maintain relationships with external partners including universities and professional organisations. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liMinimum 3 years' experience working in a professional library or information management environment. /li liBachelor's degree in Library Information Science, Information Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. /li liPractical experience implementing or using AI-enabled tools within a library or information management setting. /li liExperience delivering research and reference services with minimal supervision. /li liHands‑on experience administering library management systems and discovery platforms. /li liExperience delivering projects such as system implementations, metadata remediation or platform upgrades. /li liExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. /li liStrong communication and stakeholder management skills. /li liFluent English. /li /ul h3Nice to have /h3 ul liExperience within a research, academic, financial or international organisation. /li liPostgraduate qualification in Library Information Science or a related field. /li liKnowledge of German and/or French. /li liExperience working with digital preservation, metadata standards or information governance frameworks. /li /ul h3Benefits and Working Conditions /h3 ul liThe opportunity to work in a diverse and international environment on a long‑term basis. /li li50% working from home. /li li20 days working remotely from abroad per year. /li liModern office in central Basel (approximately 50 minutes direct train from Zurich) with subsidised canteen. /li liTwo‑stage interview process (conducted via video call). /li /ul pApply today with your latest CV by deadline on Wednesday 22 July: /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
