About the Role
Join Google's engineering team at the Munich Engineering Center (Erika-Mann-Str.) as a Machine Learning Engineer focusing on DeepMind & Search. You will design, develop, test, and deploy cutting‑edge ML solutions at Google scale, impacting billions of users across our global products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and productionize machine learning models for search relevance and AI‑driven insights.
- Collaborate with research scientists to translate state‑of‑the‑art algorithms into scalable production pipelines.
- Build and maintain large‑scale data processing workflows using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and custom C++/Python tooling.
- Optimize model performance, latency, and resource utilization for real‑time serving.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and cross‑functional architecture planning.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning, deep learning, or related fields.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Hands‑on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in data engineering concepts, large‑scale distributed systems, and cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
- Solid understanding of algorithms, statistics, and software engineering best practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a passion for building products that scale.
Nice to Have
- Experience with reinforcement learning or generative models.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Background in information retrieval or search technologies.
- Contributions to open‑source ML projects or publications in top conferences.
