Your mission
- Run end-to-end bookkeeping in DATEV in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and general ledger postings
- Take full responsibility for the month-end close, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, prepayments and accounting adjustments
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss accounts and supporting financial schedules
- Maintain the fixed asset register and monitor open items
- Prepare and submit monthly statutory reports (e.g. Bundesbank reporting – AWV)
- Support the preparation of the annual financial statements and tax filings in cooperation with our external tax advisor
- Prepare regular management reports, perform variance analyses and investigate unusual or unexpected financial movements
- Provide management with financial information and ad hoc analyses as required
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, standardisation and automation across accounting operations
- Take on related administrative tasks within finance and operations
Your profile
- Completed vocational training as a tax clerk ( Steuerfachangestellte /r) or commercial training with further qualification as a certified accountant (e.g. Finanzbuchhalter IHK), or a degree in business administration with a focus on accounting
- At least three years of professional experience in financial accounting, ideally in the technology or SaaS sector
- In-depth knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and sound knowledge of VAT regulations
- Advanced Excel skills and a strong working knowledge of accounting systems such as DATEV
- Structured, precise and detail-oriented, with a high level of discretion
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- A pragmatic approach and a willingness to take on operational tasks
- Excellent command of German, both written and spoken, and a very good command of English
