Overview of the ADR role
The Account Development Representative (ADR) drives pipeline growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying leads. This role is an early touchpoint for prospects and sets the tone for the sales cycle that follows. You will understand the unique challenges faced by clients in the manufacturing sector and initiate relationships with potential customers. A significant part of the job involves following up with inbound leads promptly, attending events, managing event leads, and conducting outreach to nurture relationships through the sales funnel. You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure a steady flow of high-quality leads and gather market insights to inform strategy.

What You\’ll Do
- Take the lead in outbound prospecting: identify, engage, and qualify key decision-makers in target accounts through personalized outreach across email, phone, and social media.
- Follow up on inbound marketing leads, identifying qualified opportunities and providing the right level of information to engaged prospects.
- Run qualification meetings with prospects to deeply understand their needs and determine fit; transfer high-quality opportunities to the sales team.
- Collaborate with strategic account executives to develop account intelligence, stakeholder maps, and use case opportunities through direct engagement and insight tools.
- Partner effectively with Cogniters across teams to enhance collaboration and achieve shared goals.
- Engage in meaningful conversations to build relationships with potential clients.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Cognite’s product offerings, clearly conveying their value to prospects.
- Craft personalized messages for key stakeholders in target accounts and develop effective outreach tactics.
- Continuously seek to improve and optimize outbound and inbound efforts to enhance effectiveness.
- Conduct thorough research and account planning for target accounts to inform outreach strategy.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to support campaigns through initial outreach and post-campaign follow-ups, driving engagement with target accounts.
What will your day look like
- Quickly follow up on new inbound leads to ensure timely engagement with interested prospects.
- Prospecting using sales tools like ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator, Salesforce, and LinkedIn to identify and research potential leads within target accounts.
- Conduct outreach activities through phone calls, emails, and social media, personalizing messages based on the prospect’s needs and industry.
- Follow up with leads from recent outreach efforts or events to maintain engagement.
- Research target accounts to understand pain points and identify new opportunities for engagement.
- Participate in feedback sessions to review challenges and strategies for improvement.
- Wrap up the day by updating CRM with notes and next steps, and planning outreach for the following day.
- Allocate time for professional development through industry articles, webinars, or training relevant to the role.
Who You Are
- 1-3 years of experience in sales development within the technology or industrial sector, with a track record of driving results and building relationships.
- Proficient in prospecting using tools such as ZoomInfo, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Outreach.
- Experience in the Energy and/or Manufacturing industry is advantageous.
- Interest and experience in the AI space are highly advantageous.
- Motivated to design and optimize best practices for the ADR role.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; capable of listening and fostering positive conversations in person, virtual, and on the phone.
- Ability to understand customer initiatives, pain points, and requirements, and relate them to Cognite’s value.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple requests and deadlines while delivering results.
- Eagerness to learn about the Energy and Manufacturing verticals and commit to professional growth.
- Comfortable traveling across the DACH region as part of the role.
- Proactive, self-directed, and capable of delivering results with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with a global team across time zones.
- Disciplined, persistent, and ethically driven; confident in interactions to establish trust and rapport.
