The Role:

As a Warehouse & Logistics Team Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management, performance and continuous improvement of our warehouse, logistics and shipping operations.

You will lead and develop your team while ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout our manufacturing environment, from goods receipt and storage through to production supply, order picking, packaging and shipping.

This is a hands-on leadership position combining people management, operational coordination and process optimisation. Working closely with Production, Supply Chain and other business functions, you will play an important role in improving delivery performance, maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring safe, reliable and efficient logistics operations.

What you will be doing:

  • Take overall responsibility for warehouse, logistics and shipping operations, ensuring efficient material flow from goods receipt and storage through to production supply and customer delivery.
  • Lead, coach and develop warehouse and logistics employees, including workforce planning, performance management, regular feedback and individual development.
  • Manage daily operations, resources and capacity, prioritising workloads, resolving operational issues and ensuring reliable material availability.
  • Monitor and analyse operational KPIs, including delivery performance, lead times, inventory accuracy, shipping quality and productivity, implementing improvements where required.
  • Drive continuous improvement across warehouse and logistics processes, applying Lean Management, 5S and CIP methodologies to increase efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, stock control, physical inventories and warehouse organisation in accordance with internal and external standards.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant health and safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements, including preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Supply Chain, transport providers and other stakeholders, promoting effective communication and a positive, safe and performance-driven working environment.

About You:

You are an experienced and hands-on logistics professional who enjoys leading people, improving processes and taking ownership of operational performance.

You combine strong organisational and analytical skills with a practical, solution-oriented approach and are comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will ideally bring:

  • Completed vocational training in Logistics, Warehouse Logistics, Freight Forwarding or a comparable qualification, ideally supplemented by further training as a Logistics Meister or Logistics Specialist.
  • Several years of professional experience in warehouse operations, goods receipt or internal logistics, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in the functional and/or disciplinary leadership of employees.
  • Strong understanding of material flows, warehouse processes, inventory management and production material supply.
  • Experience managing daily logistics operations, workforce planning, capacity allocation and changing operational priorities.
  • Good knowledge of ERP and warehouse management systems, ideally Oracle.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, with experience using reporting and analytical tools such as Power BI considered advantageous.
  • Experience applying Lean Management, 5S, continuous improvement (CIP) or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Good understanding of workplace safety, quality standards and regulatory compliance within warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Strong analytical, structured and solution-oriented problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a respectful, collaborative and accountable approach to managing employees.
  • A proactive, hands-on mindset with strong decision-making skills and a high level of personal responsibility.
