The Finisar Germany GmbH, a Coherent subsidiary serves multiple businesses within Coherent. One focus area is the development of leading-edge high performance, high capacity optical front-end solutions for long reach optical transmission. A special field is utilizing advanced photonic technologies in support of driving highly integrated coherent products. Job Description
- Preparation and operation of semi-automated and automated assembly and interconnection equipment for the manufacture of electro-optical assemblies in a development environment
- Manual activities related to the assembly, repair and preparation for repair of electro-optical assemblies
- Mechanical characterization of electro-optical assemblies and components using modern measurement microscopy and destructive testing methods
- Creation, preparation and maintenance of technical documentation
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a scientific or technical degree program, e.g. electrical engineering, electronics, microsystems engineering, process engineering, information and communications engineering, mechatronics or physics
- Basic knowledge of microsystems engineering and assembly and interconnection technology used in electronics manufacturing
- Technical aptitude and an interest in working with small and very small components and assemblies
- Ability to learn quickly, combined with a careful and structured approach to work
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Team player with flexibility and a reliable working style
- Good English skills
- German language skills at least at B2 level
