Head of Distribution

Colchester Global Investors is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Distribution to lead and expand our business across Austria, Germany and Eastern Europe.

This is a senior client-facing role with responsibility for driving business development and strengthening relationships with institutional investors and consultants.

The successful candidate will also have data to day oversight of our Munich office, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, while contributing to the firm’s global Marketing, Client Service and Sales strategy and initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of our business, working closely with colleagues across our global offices and engaging with some of the world’s leading institutional investors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies to grow Colchester’s presence across Austria, Germany and Eastern Europe.
• Expand and deepen relationships with existing institutional clients, consultants and key market participants.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, investor segments and distribution channels, including intermediary markets and new investment structures where appropriate.
• Represent Colchester at client meetings, consultant presentations, industry events and conferences.
• Develop a deep understanding of Colchester’s investment philosophy, strategies and products in order to effectively articulate the firm’s value proposition.
• Present portfolio positioning, investment performance and market insights to clients and prospective investors with confidence and credibility.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships through proactive and regular engagement with clients and consultants.
• Produce and oversee high-quality marketing, client and consultant communications and materials.
• Act as the Munich office’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), overseeing AML processes and ensuring compliance with applicable German regulatory requirements.
• Required Experience
• Extensive knowledge of fixed income markets and institutional investment management.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in institutional distribution, client relationship management and/or business development within asset management.
• Proven track record of developing and maintaining successful institutional client relationships.
• Business fluency in both English and German essential.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex investment concepts clearly and persuasively.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities while maintaining a practical, hands-on approach.
• Collaborative and inclusive working style, with experience working across international teams and cultures.
• High levels of emotional intelligence, resilience and professionalism.
• Self-motivated, energetic and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout the region and internationally as required.
