The Municipality of Lutry is advertising the position of:
Head of Caretaking and Municipal Usher (100%)
Within the General Administration and Spatial Planning and Buildings Services, you actively contribute to the management, maintenance and security of municipal buildings. As head of caretaking, you coordinate a team of 13 caretakers, oversee the operational and financial management of the team, and organise the logistics of numerous municipal events. You also undertake duties as a municipal usher in service of the Municipality during its receptions and official events.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- You contribute to defining and implementing the municipal policy regarding the management, maintenance and security of buildings and infrastructure. - You plan, coordinate and supervise the human resources of the caretaking teams. - You ensure the operational and financial management of the caretaking services (budget, orders, stocks, external contractors). - You establish, apply and monitor procedures, directives and quality standards related to building operations. - You perform caretaking tasks when necessary. - You organise the logistics of municipal events (set-ups, coordination, follow-up, liaison with contractors/suppliers). - You fulfil the role of municipal usher, including room arrangements, organising receptions (aperitifs, meals, etc.), welcoming guests, serving, and various logistical tasks related to the Municipality’s official and representative activities. - You prepare activity reports and monitoring indicators for the management. - You participate in the training and supervision of an apprentice within the service. - You contribute to the continuous improvement of the Service’s tools and processes.
YOUR PROFILE
- Holder of a Federal VET Diploma as an operations agent or professional training in a technical field (building, caretaking, maintenance) or an equivalent qualification. - Federal certificate as a maintenance agent/caretaker or federal certificate in a technical field or facility management (a significant advantage). - Additional training in team management, leadership or personnel management. - Category B driving licence essential. - Proven experience in team management and building or infrastructure operations. - Excellent organisational, planning and coordination skills. - Strong sense of organisation and responsibility, with the ability to work independently while integrating effectively into a team. - Responsible, proactive, leadership qualities and solution-oriented. - Excellent knowledge of safety, hygiene standards, product use and building maintenance techniques. - Good interpersonal skills, public service orientation, good presentation, courteous and discreet, comfortable with reception and service tasks, especially during municipal events. - Ability to manage priorities and handle unforeseen situations. - Good writing skills and proficiency with common IT tools.
SPECIFICITIES OF THE POSITION
- No official accommodation is provided; residence near the workplace is required to ensure rapid intervention if needed. - The position requires some flexibility in working hours (sometimes evenings or weekends) depending on events and service needs.
START DATE
1 December 2026 or by agreement.
